I have tried repeately without success to upgrade Windows ME to XP (Service
Pack 2). When I use the option of downloading the new setup files, the installation stops at the first stage ("Collecting Information") and will not proceed. When I use the option to not download new setup files, I get this error message: "File Copy Error An error occurred copying file avicap32.dll to C:\$WIN_NT$.~LS|I386\avicap32.dl_. (or the same message with a different file name). A device attached to the system is not functioning. You may choose to tertry the copy, skip this file, or exit Setup..." I will appreciate advice. |

I would install Windows XP paralle to Windows ME and then reinstall all applications from Windows XP (on top of the existing files). As long as this takes you can still use Windows ME. When you are donw, simply remove Windows ME from your computer. |
