I've got a client that I'm upgrading from win98SE to XP. I ran the
compatibility check before running the upgrade, and there were no issues to stop. A couple of drivers will need updates (printer, scanner, etc) but they are not currntly attached. When the install get to the 43 minute mark, the video flashes a few times (I'm assumeing it's installing video drivers), then the screen goes black and there's a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. I've reset the display settings to 640x480 in 98SE with default refresh rates so I don't think it's a sync problem. Any suggestions? The computer is a 1Ghz Athlon w/512MB RAM a RIVA TNT PCI Video card with a DFI AM35-SC motherboard. I did update the BIOS to the most recent version. -- ABC Computer http://www.abc-comp.com |

I ran into a similar problem, I think, with the same video card when trying
to update from XP to SP2. Try using a different video card and see if that helps. "ABC Computer" wrote: > I've got a client that I'm upgrading from win98SE to XP.
