Default recovery of Windows

My computer came with Windows XP Home already installed and without coming
with the CD. I have since wisely upgraded to SP2. My backup program allows me
to create a disaster recovery boot disc that would allow me to restore a full
backup of my system. It wants a "source" for the windows files to create the
disaster disc, but when I point it to the Service Pack files and the i386
folder, it tells me that those files are SP1 and you are running SP2 and will
not create the disc. What can I do? Thanks in advance!

You should've made the CD as soon as you got the machine - actually. It
likely makes a true Windows XP CD - it may not, but it might have - which
you would have been able to slipstream SP2 into.

Your only recourse at this point is to contact those you bought the system
from - they are your support contacts on this machine - for everything
(including Windows) on it.

Slipstream the SP1 files with SP2 files:
