Hi; I have a computer that originally came with Windows Millennium,
later was upgraded to Windows XP and after that had an accident and the Millennium CD was broken, now I’d like to re-install Windows Millennium in another partition, I have the Millennium Key but don’t have the CD, is there a way I can download the OS from Microsoft or somewhere else? or what would you advice me to do? Thanks for your time. |

No, you cannot download WinME anywhere (at least not legally). However, you
could call Microsoft and tell them about your CD breaking. They may provide a replacement CD. You may try Microsoft at: 1 800 642-7676 -- Jon Hildrum DTS MVP Jon_Hildrum@msn.com www.hildrum.com "ebocanibo" <ebocanibo@vista.com> wrote in message news:%23YWjmKTCGHA.2356@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > Hi; I have a computer that originally came with Windows Millennium, later > was upgraded to Windows XP and after that had an accident and the > Millennium CD was broken, now I’d like to re-install Windows Millennium in > another partition, I have the Millennium Key but don’t have the CD, is > there a way I can download the OS from Microsoft or somewhere else? or > what would you advice me to do? > > Thanks for your time. |

If you have proof of purchase (and that means it was a retail CD - not one that came with the computer in question) - then MAYBE Microsoft would get you a new one. Otherwise - borrow one from a friend (who also got stuck with Windows ME - God help them) and burn a copy... Use your CD Key and away you go. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
