I recently used system mechanic to clean up the registry, next time I tried
to log on i got the message script load failed. I tried to reinstall windows. It kept getting stuck at the 39 minute mark, asking for a file that should have been on the disk then when I click cancel it would say fatal error then close. Eventually I have managed to reinstall, but its a wonky fresh install. I used a bootable Koppix disc and it shows all my files are still there. I have tried to retrieve my files to a writable CD. However the Koppix burner wont work. Can anyone suggest a way to get to these files. As I can no longer open my old site, only the freh install. I am happy to burn them to disk and then reformat hard drive. Thanks to anyone with advice. Not too technichal as I.m more of a fiddler. Regards -- Bazza |

Regards > -- > Bazza Here are a few suggestions: - Stay well clear of registry cleaners. - Back up your important files regularly. - Back up your important files before attempting to modify the system. - Boot your system with your Knoppix disk, then save your files to an independent hard disk. - Your registry is probably thrashed. Do a clean installation of WinXP. When backing up files, always back them up to an independent and removable medium. |
