Default Activation problems

I purchased a PC with windows installed, but not activated about a week ago.
i activated it, copied my files across and everything was fine. Yesterday,
windows had some kind of registry problem that i could not fix easily so i
just decided to re-format.

I have just installed xp-home and went to activate, but it is saying my code
is already in use by another computer. Now, to copy my files accross i did
plug my second hard disk in, but that is the only change made.

windows support won't help me because its OEM, and all the manafacturers can
do is replace it with a new copy, which they will not do.

does anyone have any ideas on what to do now? will putting the hard disk
back in help? is there an email address i can contact to try and get this
sorted out?

Default Re: Activation problems

Choose the option to activate by phone.
Call Microsoft at the displayed number.
Usually finished in about 5 minutes.
