Default Documents and Settings - User names have a dot extension name

After re-installing Windows XP Pro on a new hard drive, I added two Users.
Now, there are multiple listings in the Documents and Settings folder.

Example: Joe and Joe.windows; Mary and Mary.computername

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Only one of each is being used.

What do you mean by "re-installing Windows XP Pro on a new hard drive.."?
You can "install Windows XP on a new hard drive" - but to "re-install"
implies Windows XP was already on the hard drive.

As for the folders under Documents and Settings - it's not a big deal.
Likely only one set of them is being used - and unless you are just hurting
for space and that extra 3MB of space will save your life - I would just let
it go. =)

Dear Shenan,

1. Thank you for assisting me. I actually tried to find the answer, but
was not able.
2. Thank you for the link to "smart questions." I've never used the
discussion boards, so my ignorance is obvious.
3. You are correct. I replaced a defective hard drive and installed WinXP
Pro. I then re-installed XP Pro, but did not have the install program
reformat the drive.
4. I tried to read your post last night, but the server was not available.
5. Today, I discovered the same information you suggested. I was able to
delete the users and re-add them. However, the "All Users.WINDOWS" folders
is permanent. Per your suggestion, it will stay as is.
6. I sincerely appreciate your response and time.

Sincerely,
