Default Please go to the control panel to install and configure system components???

My e machine running XP comes up with an box saying "Please go to the
control panel to install and configure system components" when I now
try to access a CD at D drive and a floppy at A drive. Which control
panel does it mean and what do I do. I looked in the device manager
within the system control panel and uninstalled and reinstalled the
CD-Rom driver and it says it is working correctly. What is up and what
do I do? Are the floppy drive and the CD on the same bus? Could one be
affecting the other. My CD may have broken physically for it sounds
louder and grinds a bit now.

You need to find someone in your area to ask for help. Your questions are
such that any answer would be pages long and probably above your experience
level.
