Dear fellow Windows users,
Is there a Microsoft approved method for creating an XP bootable CD? I've seen various quite complex suggestions on the Web for doing this but wondered whether there is a standard, recommended MS way. Many thanks, Tony |

All Microsoft Windows XP CDs are already bootable.
The trick is to open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device and the hard drive as the second bootable device. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Microsoft Community Newsgroups news://msnews.microsoft.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "TonyH" wrote: | Dear fellow Windows users, | Is there a Microsoft approved method for creating an XP bootable CD? | | I've seen various quite complex suggestions on the Web for doing this but | wondered whether there is a standard, recommended MS way. | | Many thanks, | | Tony |

If you want a bootable CD that will *run* Windows XP or a subset thereof then Microsoft does not have anything available. The most popular method of doing this is Bart's PE Builder http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ Good luck Ron Martell Duncan B.C.
