It seems from googling that this is an astute assumption as many people
have this problem and some have said it's related to Adobe Premier Pro.
Most (all?) the posts I found by googling seem to say they didn't
install Adobe Premier Pro (I don't even know what it is so I am pretty
sure I never installed it). I asked my son and he said he didn't touch
my computer so I don't think it was him anymore.

Somehow, Adobe Premier Pro is mixed up with SpywareBlaster in some
incestuous way and that's what the problem seems to be. I looked in
both the "Program Files" directory and "My Programs" (where I install
everything) and the only Adobe I see is for Acrobat. Same with the
Start Menu.

In the Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs console,
the only Adobe products listed are Acrobat and the updates to Acrobat.
Oh my! I see, looking further down, there is a listing for "SmartSound
Quicktracks Plugin". Hmm. Where did that come from!

Unfortunately, I clicked "Change/Remove" a dozen times and all that
happened each time was a message saying "InstallShield Wizard"
"SmartSound QuickTracks PlugIn SetUp is preparing the InstallShield
Wizard which will guide you though the program setup process. Please
wait". But nothing happened each time.

It's interesting how one computer problem cascades into another and
another until the problem is resolved (honestly, I don't know how you
guys do this stuff). I guess my question has just now morphed into a
question about how to really uninstall a program.

Is there a WinXP program uninstaller out there that will really
uninstall this program?

Thank you in advance,
Susan
