about a year ago i purchased a few computers with xp pro on it. At the time I
thought xp was to buggy to use so i downgraded most computers to 2000. Now that i think xp is stable, i recently purchased an upgrade cd (The cd's that came with these computers are all clean installs). When i enter the key that is on the computer, it says wrong key. How do go about doing this legally without losing data (clean installs) and using the keys that came with the computers (90% dells). Thanks in advace |

You'll need to contact Dell and order their
Dell Reinstallation CD. The Dell Product Keys will not work with a "Retail Version" of XP because they are "OEM" Product Keys. Thanks in advace You will have to use the key that came with the upgrade CD. You will need a seperate upgrade key for each machine. The Dell keys will not work. |
