In knowledge base article KB823658 it makes reference to a hotfix for 32 bit
machines; but it doesn't give me the opportunity to download it. I get the following error when trying to bring down a RIS image: "The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your administrator. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. " The PC connecting to the RIS server sees it just fine, I can select the image I want and it even starts to act like it's going to work; but then I get the above mentioned error message. If anyone can help I'd greatly apprecaite it. Richard S. Beaumont, Texas |

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product
Support Services to obtain the hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services telephone numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Microsoft Community Newsgroups news://msnews.microsoft.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Richard S" wrote: | In knowledge base article KB823658 it makes reference to a hotfix for 32 bit | machines; but it doesn't give me the opportunity to download it. | | I get the following error when trying to bring down a RIS image: "The | operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers | for your network adapter. Carey,
Thanks; but I've done that and it still doesn't work. Richard S. "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: > To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product > Support Services to obtain the hotfix. Hi Richard,
This may be because the network card is not supported natively by Windows XP. In order to add the drivers to you RIS server installation see the following KB article: Q315279: How to add a third-party OEM network adapter to a RIS installation http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315279 This has solved my problems with RIS support for Broadcom 57xx nics. /Cheers "Richard S" wrote: > Carey, > > Thanks; but I've done that and it still doesn't work. > > Richard S. > > > "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: > > > To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product > > Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
