I set up a small network using Windows Server 2003 and XP Pro desktops.
After lots of random problems my server died. Rather than bringing back a
server OS just to share files I dubbed a spare machine the "server"

Problem. I had a domain set up. now that I no longer have a server I sent
to one of the computers and told it we were part of a workgroup not domain.
(Click NetworkID in the Systems properties box, follow instructions) It made
me reboot.

Now when I ctrl alt delete to log in it doesn't recognize the user. It
doesn’t recognize the administrator password. There is nothing I can do to
get past the log in screen. I do not want to have to reformat the HD just
because it cannot keep track of the passwords.

WHAT DO I DO?????????????????????????????

Oh and to get product support MS demands that I type in the product ID taken
from a computer that cannot boot. idiots!

You could use Winternals ERD Commander 2005:Emergency Download Version. It
as a Locksmith option to give you access to restricted PC by booting with a
CD.

Thanks but I am a not for profit arts group and cannot afford the $150

Try Barts PE. Just google it and it will take you to the page with tons of
