When I try to bring down a RIS image I've created I get the following error
message: "Setup cannot set permissions for \Device\Hardisk0\Partition2\35bcb\sp1" When I choose "Skip File" the process goes a little further then I get this message "selected operating system image cannot be modified to match you computer hardware because of a missing driver or lack of resources." Any ideas on what's wrong? |

we have replicated our images from a master RIS server (2k3) to remote 2K
servers using DFS & NTFRS and get the same issue. I have ran chkdsk /f (KB237692) and everything checks out fine. It would seem to indicate a security issue, but I'm at a loss as have checked share/folder and file security which looks ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated. David,
Since posting this message I have found a solution to the problem. It appears that the problem was on the machine of which I was trying to make the image. In the root of the boot drive there were three folders which appear to be uninstall folders for what appeared to be Office 2003 SP1. On a whim I decided to delete them and when we re-ran RipRep then tried accessing the RIS server it worked just fine. RIS is running great now! Check the root of your boot drive and see if you have any folders marked "$Unistall..." and delete them. Richard
Thank you for getting back. In our case, we have a replicated RIS deployment from a central master server, we RIS just fine from here. The issue is with remote RIS servers, however I will take a look on the server and see if there are any directories that shouldn't be there.
