Default Limits to MS Academic XP Pro Upgrade??

All:

I'm fairly sure I've answered my own question, but for my own sanity
I'm going to ask it anyway...

Is there any restriction, limit, foible, caveat, whatever, that would
prevent a legal, legitimate, absolutely proper copy of MS XP Pro -
Academic Version from upgrading a machine from a vendor with that
vendor's absolutely proper copy of XP Home?

Example: Gateway sells MooCow Model X with XP Home, but they want too
much for the XP Pro upgrade (because academic version is cheaper). I
want to buy the Academic XP Pro Upgrade instead. Any reason I
can't do that? (Yes, I am legitimately entitled to acad.
version).

Thanks,
-intrepid

So long as you are qualified to purchase the Academic version and your
usage is compliant with the terms of the EULA for that version there
should be no problem.

But read the package carefully, including the fine print, before
purchasing. Returning opened software can be problematic.

Good luck
