Default How Can I Hide a SysTray Icon and Make It Stick?

Good morning. This is really an application problem, but naturally the
vendor is useless, so I'm hoping someone here will know a Windows solution.
Maybe some clever registry trick?
My mouse (Optical Faerie) driver (3D Browser Mouse 1.0) puts an icon in the
system tray. Why would one need to adjust mouse settings on a daily basis,
you ask? I do not know. Anyway, I can of course set the systray setting to
Always Hide this icon. The problem: it comes back on system restart.
The icon has no name; when setting it to Always Hide it appears as <no
title>. I'm guessing that this is preventing Windows from recording the
preference permanently.
Does anyone know a workaround? Thanks!
