My problem is very similar to the "HELP!!! I can't hit the F6 key during XP
new install!!!" thread. I'm trying to install XP SP2 on a new system I just built. When I am loading from the setup boot disk, and I get to the prompt to "hit F6 to install..." I can press F6 till my fingers fall off, but a few seconds later, it continues to the "insert setup disk 2". At no point during the setup or install does it ever prompt for my RAID driver disk. The keyboard works just fine at every other point during setup or BIOS config, and the F6 key seems to function just fine at other times. I've tried everything I can think of, but ultimately I can't get setup to acknowledge that I need to install the RAID drivers. Is it absolutely necessary that I install them at this point, or is there some way to work around this problem? For the record, I'm working with an ASUS A8N SLI mobo; 2x 74GB WD Raptor HDs in RAID 0; and an OEM copy of XP Home/SP2 |

EDIT: Please disregard this post, I gave it one more shot, and I'm not sure
what I did differently, but it worked. |
