Default securing a DVD/RW drive in your PC

I finally built my PC, well my first ever PC from scratch. Buying parts
from newegg.com , compUSA , and the PC Club, right off the San Diego Fwy. and
Rosecranse offramp, for this new PC. When I first hit the power button
nothing happened. Then with another look at the mobo manuel, oh , switch
the power button switch from 8 to 10 to 12 to 14 and whammo! Almost whammo,
everytime I'd hit the power button now the PC would start up, fans would
start turning and then quit, finally nothing at all would happen when I hit
it. Well, I needed to elevate the mobo from metal on metal. This is my 3 rd
PC class that I'm taking right now and I had to take my PC into the PC Club
and have the tech tell me that's probably the problem, or I can leave it for
a fee for them to check it out. Nope, I thanks them and took it home and
whammo! Once I elevated the mobo, things started looking up, except for one
thing, no sound device detected. WTF, I've always plugged in PC speakers, two
Bose PC speakers and nps. After a check of every gizmo to see that everything
was plugged in right, I decided to take a shot in the dark and download
multimedia onboard audio drivers. Now, when I boot the PC I hear the familiar
sound of Windows XP coming throught the speakers. Ok , my first PC built with
only a few minor speed bumps to overcome. Ok, to my question. All is fine
except the DVD driver can fall right out if you tip it a certain way, but for
the IDE strap and molex power connector holding it in. I bought the plastic
rails that hook up onto the sides to secure it in place, but it doesn't seem
to fit inside when I hook them up. What gives? Someone said the whole front
panel has to come off then you can hook up the rails. I don't see how without
a real hassle of taking off the whole front part of the tower. Is there an
easier way or is the information I heard correct?
Thanks, Daniel

well since no one knows wtf I'm trying to say to do, thanks for nothing! I
just wanted to know if the front panel comes completely off the PC easily
and if that's what you had to do to install the plastic rails for the CD ROM
drivers.

eeeeeeeeeeeeee

First off, this is a newsgroup - not a chat room or a phone call. You
waited approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes before making a snide comeback
to yourself. Newsgroups do not necessarily work as quickly as a normal
conversation AND they especially won't if your post is not concise and
cleary states what you need.

Second - we don't know what computer case you have or if it even comes with
rails or if the drive just screws in - etc.. In that whole story you never
stated a name brand of anything - especially not the part you had the
question about. Without knowing the exact case and model number - no one
can tell you much about it.. Sort of like coming in and saying "It hurts"
to a doctor and expecting them to fix "it". You didn't even bother pointing
to the part with the pain. heh

The case - if it needs rails - should have come with them. If the case did
not come with rails - then you likely just need to screw down the CD ROM
into the PC Case. You stated you "bought the rails" - this should not have
been a separate purchase.
