I am trying to install XP Pro on a Dell XPS 700R with 768 MB of ram. Clean
install with format set to NTFS. Installtion stops with unable to load driver.cab. Have tried several times using both Home Edition OEM disk and Pro Upgrade. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thankyou. |

I recieved the system as a gift. I have a Home Full install disk and the Pro
upgrade. If the recovery cd/set can be located, what am I looking for? Windows 98, that I upgraded to XP Pro.
XP Pro install on boot up. It asks for previous version of any one of several MS' Operating Systems. I used a Home Edition CD that came with another unit that I have. It formats OK, then asks for XP Pro disk to do the install with. It stops at driver.cab file install as previously stated. I have also tried to "redo" the install from scratch using just the Home Edition disk, same result. I am unable to locate the original Dell disks that were shipped with the system at this point in time.
