Default Windows XP serial number

Hi, I have a genuine version of Windows XP Home however when I first bought
it over a year ago I threw out the packaging!!

I wanted to install it on a new machine but obviously get stuck at the
'Enter product code' part of the installation.

Is there any way of recovering the serial numbers etc for my product or do I
say goodbye to £100+??

Having to pay £100 would be a very effective way to remind
you to keep a register of ***all*** software licence numbers
you ever get (with proper backup, of course). Fortunately for
you there is a free option with Aida:

If XP is still installed on your old computer, you can run this
utility to display the 25 digit CD key:

Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

Keep in mind that once XP is installed on your new computer,
you cannot keep using it on the old computer. As explained in
the EULA, one copy installed on one computer.

If XP is no longer installed on your old system, you might try
contacting Microsoft and see if they can provide any
assistance. It's a long shot but you never know.

How to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software or

Good luck

Thought I'd pass this along:

While Aida32 did indeed have that feature, it's not present in
Everest Home Edition. It seems that when Lavalys repackaged
Aida32 as Everest Home Edition, they removed all the software
components. Software information is only available through the
paid edition of Everest. Unfortunately, they don't provide this
feature in the trial version of Everest Ultimate Edition.

Run it on the computer that has the working version, extract the key code
from Belarc's report..
