One of my customers brought his laptop in because the networking had stopped
working and Device Manager was blank. I thought the best thing to do was perform a repair install. Well, I began the RI and it seems to be stuck while its installing devices. It's @ the 33 minute mark and still running but its has bot moved from the 33 minute mark for several hours. I do had System Internals so I'm able to access the hd and change/delete files. Should I go in and delete the Driver dir (in Windodws dir) and/or what files should I remove to un-stall the repair install? Thanks, Edison |

I'll check the install log and see if there's any useful info there. The comp
was badly infected with spyware. I was able to remove it and the comp worked fine for a couple days, then this happened. Is there a way to roll back the repair install and attempt the Hotfix? If you can get to the data on the system at all (try the advice on the page - that's the best way to go other than a side-by-side installation) then a clean installation might actually be your safest choice. -- Galen - MS MVP - Windows (Shell/User & IE) http://dts-l.org/ "My life is spent in one long effort to escape from the commonplaces of existence." - Sherlock Holmes |
