If you have Real Player on your PC, launch it and ensure it's volume is not
set to mute or low. If it is, set it to high. For some unknown reason, it overrides settings on the PC. It's VERY annoying. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "fender62" <fender62.1wfii6@pcbanter.net> wrote in message news:fender62.1wfii6@pcbanter.net... > > recently when itried to play a sound file i got error messages 88780079 > directsound output (d) error i have onboard sound chip c8738mx > 6-channel audio, in device manager theres no conflicts yellow markers > etc or any c-media mention any where just audio video drivers. all the > driver seem to be present, i did notice on startup there no mixer > console icon at bottom left taskbar. wha tcan i do to restore sound i > cant find c-media to delete its file > so wha t next ? > > > -- > fender62 |
