Default Please Help!!!!

I am trying to capture video from my jvc camcorder but it will not capture
the video. It is saying that the video was not captured correctly and to make
sure the computer and camcorder are configured properly?????????? Also I am
not getting anything in the preview window on the computer only the
camcorder. I do have a IEEE 1394 firewire and it is rewinding the camcorder
which tells me it is communicating...can anyone help me...

You should be able to play and watch the video from the camera. You don't
say what program you are trying to capture with. I have a jvc camera, and
some programs don't like mpeg outputs. Moviemaker don't like mpeg. There are
others.

What model is your camcorder? (Example: mine is GRD72U)
You may have to go into the M mode and check to make sure the settings in
the menu are correct. Make sure the av-in setting is turned off.
I have never used MovieMaker to capture because my camera outputs Mpeg. I
use Pinnacle Studio or MoviePlus4. I know nothing about the others you
mention. If you cannot see the video in the preview screen of the program
you are using, but it plays on the camera screen, you could have a bad cord
or one of the settings is wrong on the camera. If there is nothing in the
program preview screen, nothing will be captured. Make sure the cord is
seated on both ends.

Check out my page here for more things to try,
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Probl...notCapture.htm
I'd start with the testing proceedure, although you can control the cam.
