The audio is about 1 second ahead of the video, but only when playing from my
TV Tuner. When I watch DivX files, or any other movie on my computer, the timing is perfect. ~Brett "Graham Hughes" wrote: > And what exactly is the audio video sync problem you are experiencing? So when you capture from the tv tuner the files are always out of sync? Or
when you are watching tv using the tuner? Have you installed any updates for the card? Is it a pci card? It's when I either capture video, or watch TV on it. It is a PCI card, and
it still does it when I move slots. I've installed as updated software as I can get from ATI. ~Brett "Graham Hughes" wrote: > So when you capture from the tv tuner the files are always out of sync? A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended
to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next release that contains this hotfix. Hot fix? I have the same problem. Well, the hotfix is meant for those running XP and/or DirectX 9.0b. I'm
running XP SP2 and DX9.0c so it doesn't pertain to me. The hotfix you have to call for, so I wouldn't put much faith in getting it. All it is is a dll for you to replace. I'm having the same problems, and I'll pass on what ATI has told me: ------- Audio and video out of sync on some channels or recordings The information in this article applies to certain TV Tuner products under Windows XP Service Pack 2 (including Media Center Edition). While watching TV or playing back captured video, audio may be out of sync with the video. This issue is not specific to ATI, as it may affect 3rd party TV Tuner / capture devices as well. The following ATI products may be affected: * E-HOME WONDER * HDTV WONDER * TV WONDER Series Microsoft has posted Knowledge Base Article - 887131, stating a fix is now available. --------- Regarding your issue: The information in this article applies to the following configurations: - TV WONDER PRO When "Best video quality" from the video tab in Setup is checked, audio levels may become lower. Additionally, the audio and video may become out of sync after a few channel changes. !! Audio levels may become lower and after few channel changes, the video may get out of sync. WORKAROUND: In some instances, it may be possible to work around this issue by muting all other mixer recording inputs other than line in. ------ Dear Customer, To help you determine if warranty service is required on a technical issue you are experiencing, please follow the four-step Warranty process below: STEP 1: SEARCH THE ATI CUSTOMER CARE KNOWLEDGEBASE When experiencing a technical issue please visit our KNOWLEDGEBASE to find answers to your questions prior to requesting warranty service. Please note that over 80% of the video cards returned to ATI Technologies for Warranty Service are tested functional. ATI Technologies recommends that you have the latest drivers to optimize the performance of your product. These are available from our Drivers Download page. Here is a list of examples that likely DO NOT require warranty service. 1. System restarts to a black screen after installa ---------- Regarding your issue: You have to understand that when all trouble-shooting has been done then replacing the card is the last step. If you do not want to...then I suggest that you should consider reisntalling windows to see if that fixes it. Also, testing the card in another PC is another way of making sure that it is not a SOFTWARE related issue. ================================================== ==== I'm still waiting to test it out (I'm Supposed to be getting another box soon). ~Brett "vf" wrote: > A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended > to correct the problem that is described in this article.
