I have nearly identical computers - both running Windows XP Pro - SP2 - all
the latest patches. Both running on P4 2.8 GHz PCs. Both with the same DVD drive with the same firmware. When I put the DVD in one computer it pops up with the what would you like me to do - play, explore, windvd etc. When I put the same DVD in the other computer it just sits there. I went to the autoplay properties of the drive and selected DVD and set to restore defaults - nothing happens after I reinsert the DVD. I set it to WindDVD - nothing happens. If I manually open WinDVD I can play the movie on both computers no problem. I noticed when the DVD is in the first computer ComputerA (the one that autoplays properly) If I select My Computer it lists the title of the movie next to the drive letter. If I put the same DVD in the second computer ComputerB it shows that it is 4 GIGs but nothing more and if I click on the drive it shows me the contents of the DVD AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS If I select the VIDEO_TS I can click on the files and get the movie to play with WinDVD - but I want it to autoplay without doing the extra steps. Not sure what I need to change for it to recognize the DVD in the drive as a movie so it autoplays. Thanks |
