Default Direct3D Problem

Sapphire Radeon 9200SE 64mb Atlantis
DirectX 9.0c
Windows XP SP2

Hi everyone.
When I access DXDIAG I get following message.
DXDIAG has detected that there may have been a problem accessing Direct
3D the last time this program was used would you like to bypass Direct
3D this time.
If I select YES all is fine but if I select NO the system crash's and
reboot's.
In DXDIAG under DISPLAY,Direct3D acceleration is not available and the
enable box is greyed out, also to the right of this there are no driver
details
for the Graphic's card, although I do have the latest drivers for the
card.
I am fairly certain that my Graphic's card supports 3D.
Hope someone can help
