Default DVD problems

I just installed XP service pack 2, and since then I have had issues with all
of my multimedia programs... Power DVD, real player, windows media player,
except for my divx player. I've tried playing movies on my computer and
simply playing a DVD, but the programs once I open the file or attempt to
play the DVD close. They will not run. Any help would be appreciative.
