Default captured video file duration displayed wrong

Have captured a file using Sonic MyDVD from a VCR. It is a 7 minute file of
size 350 MB. It is captured correctly. However myDVD shows the duration to
be 4 secs only and size 50 mB. When checked under explorer, the size is
correctly displayed. When the file is played in windows media player, it
plays for the entire 7 minutes but the seek bar shows the duration to be of 4
secs. When this file is burnt to a DVD, only 4 secs of data is burnt.
What is the problem?
