Many have reported this problem. No specific answers can be
found. Something on my XP SP2 install is causing WMP 9 & 10 (I upgraded) to not want to stream music or video from within the browsers I use. Some files start downloading using WMP 10 standalone, but even those are not playing right. I tested the same sites on another XP install (using a VMware version on the same box) and the sites stream fine. Hmmm. Must be some setting or driver conflict but where does one start, since the problem seems to have cropped up pretty randomly. There are no error messages being generated. |

Here's an interesting clue.
I have a version of WMP called Classic. Its a GNU release of WMP 6. The same files that either dont stream or stream very badly in WMP 10, work FINE in this older build on the same machine. Whats up with that? |

Try clicking on "tools" in WMP,options, make sure the box is checked:"
connect to the internet",then edit other tabs. "Tom Snoiker" wrote: > Many have reported this problem.
