menus dont work

i have nero and when i burn a vcd the cd works on the computer but when i put
it in the dvd player (which reads vcds) the dvd player doesn't go past the
menus but if i burn the same way without the menus it plays fine can any one
tell me why this is can you help me

are you using the number buttons on the remote, as in chapter one press "1",
not play etc which don't work on vcd's.
