Default how to upload off a camera

my friend is having difficulties uploading her images from a Digigr8 dv
camera on to a windows xp computer.

this what she has told me.

-1. The photos are obtained directly from DV, since DV has an
independant hard disc function.

2. Click program at start menu to open PHOTOIMPRESSION 4.0 software."
- did that & it worked!!....thenthis is where it all went wrong....
?
3. Click lower left corner ('from folder') & then, click right button
('Browse') to select independent disc at your computer for DV - did
that & it worked...
?
then, select 100MEDIA under DCIM file at DIGITAL VIDEO hard disc, -
thats what I couldn't find! & if I could it then says...."the photo can
be displayed at photo frame at lower right angle & you can now edit the
photo....end of instructions!!! -

well it is a second hand camera and i think the disc could maybe have
changed names so i dunno. please help. what is the easiest way to get
these pictures of the camera or to find the camera disc. thank you

The easiest answer is to use a card reader. Otherwise go to the website of
the camera manufacturer and ensure you have all the relevant software.

the DigiGR8 DV-182F

after researching this camera more it would seem it is a notorious pain
in the tits. see below.

i don't know why they make useless cameras but i guess someone is
making money. any help would still be appreciated.

How are you connecting the cam to the pc. For photos using the usb lead
should be the correct way. You may then be able to find the card via windows
exporer, as a removable disc.
You seem to be a little mixed up about dv and the still pictures on the
memory card though.
Cari's suggestion is the easiest, if XP cannot detect the card whilst in the
cam.
