Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my Belkin USB2 DVD Creator, Belkin
did get back to me with a fix and it worked fine. But since I fixed it I have reinstalled my computer so I am back to the same problem. I also can't find the email from Belkin telling me how to fix it :-( From memory the problem is with the software defaulting to NTSC, you have to change to PAL somewere other than in Movie Maker, this way the setting does not default back to NTSC, but I have forgotten where to change it. Does anyone have any ideas? "bekqua" wrote: > I tried all the settings and still couldnt get it to work...I even tried > contacting the belkin support and it didnt help. There is a God!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just spent HOURS with a USB 2.0 DVD Creator trying to get it to work - the Ulead software that came with it was a piece of crap that I eventually after several tries got to install & then crashed every time I tried to open it - just like many of the posts I have found - could not solve the problem so gave up. I have spent considerable time combing forums trying to find the solution (I hate to be beaten!) - was close to giving up when I found this post - did not solve the problem but set me on the right track, & with a bit (lot) of luck - i am home!!! Here's what I did - the problem IS Windows Movie Maker defaulting back to NSTC. In WMM Set the format to PAL in "Options" - from memory this is in the Tools menu - sorry, I am in the middle of capturing video, so cannot access the menus to check. The only thing you then have to do was advised courtesy of an email reply from Belkin: "In windows movie maker, click on capture from video device and then choose the device and then there should be a configure button. You will need to change the video standard to PAL and then it should capture in colour" Sounds simple enought, but - PROBLEM - you try to do this but you cannot apply the change & it does not take - so you still have capture but no colour. Here is where luck stepped in - I decided I had spent too long trying to make this work so started surfing for alternate capture software. I came across several possibilites & downloaded them. Just picked randomly on one & installed it - beginner's luck!! - about time i got a break! When the software finished installing the program prompted me to install something else that it needed to run, which I did - don't ask me what it was - i was so blown away when i got WMM working that it has completely escaped me! Anyway, I installed the software (& the other required file), opened the software (which was a trial version) & attempted to capture - same problem - sound but no colour - then I recalled about changing to PAL, so went into the setup, changed the video to PAL - & bingo, all OK. I then (for some reason - madness maybe) went back into WMM, configured for PAL as advised, & double bingo - it works!!! - as soon as I clicked on PAL I could see colour video in the preview screen. Actually, I think what made me go back into WMM was that SuperVideoCapture looks & feels VERY similar to WMM .. I have since uninstalled the trial software program, & am capturing in WMM with no problems - & in colour. The last piece of the puzzle (after the pain I have gone thru I couldn't bring you this far & not give you the final piece of the puzzle) - the software was SuperVideoCapture & the trial version can be downloaded at download.com - hope this gets around & ends the many headaches that people are having with getting the belkin hardware to work "Keith" wrote: > Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my Belkin USB2 DVD Creator, Belkin > did get back to me with a fix and it worked fine.
