I have several large MPEG files stored on the hard drive of my desktop
(eMachines T2682 running Windows XP home, Celeron 2.60GHz processor). I am networked (wireless) with an HP Pavilion laptop (also running XP Home). I've tried to transfer large MPEG files from the desktop to the laptop over the network for editing and burning to DVD. However, it seems that any MPEG file over 100mb in size does not fully transfer. The files will play on Window Media Player, but large chunks of the original are lost during the transfer. I transfer the files by copying to the shared folder on the desktop and opening them on the laptop. I prefer to use the laptop for editing and burning because it's faster, handles the editing software better, and has an internal DVD burner. This hasn't happened with smaller MPEG files. I'm fairly new to networking, so I may have missed something. Any ideas on what might be going on? |

You could,1st before sending them R.click the file,send to:compressed/zipped
file, then send the compressed file, unzip at destination.Or send to cd,open cd in destination.
