Hello.
I'm using Windows XP Home, SP-2, on a Dell Dimension 8400 computer. This question involves capturing video to a WMV file. The aspect ratio of the WMV I've been making is too small. I noticed the default setting is 320 x 240, which for me is too small. I reset the aspect ratio to 640 x 480, and this is the error message I got: "The video device is currently in use. Close any other application that is using the device and try again." I get this message all the time, no matter what. In fact, I've formatted my hard drive, reinstalled Windows XP and just a few other things (including the Hauppauge Win TV 2000 drivers), and tried making a WMV capture again. I can't get the aspect ratio changed. Can anyone please tell me what is causing this error, and if there is a workaround for it? If you need further details from me about my setup, configuration, etc., please let me know. Thank you very much. Marc Barlin (Please remove the number 5 from my reply e-mail address, if you wish to reply privately via e-mail. Thank you.) |

With which application are you capturing your video? Have you tried using
third party software if you are currently using Windows Movie Maker? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Marc Barlin" <jd5jd@prodigy.net> wrote in message news:k73nm1lv2n8gl9qib7u8eovi3brb1h8mgv@4ax.com... > Hello. > > I'm using Windows XP Home, SP-2, on a Dell Dimension 8400 computer. > > This question involves capturing video to a WMV file. > > The aspect ratio of the WMV I've been making is too small. Also depending on what you have connected and with what sort of cable, the
video can be confined to certain sizes. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "Cari (MS-MVP)" <Newsgroups1@coribright.com> wrote in message news:uwwxK%23W4FHA.1140@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... > With which application are you capturing your video?
