Default playback failed

When I try to play a DVD from Windows Media, I get a message error saying
that, "Playback failed due to a problem with the video system. Lowering your
screen resolution or color depth may fix the problem." I've tried that & it
doesn't work. I played DVD's on my computer a few months ago. This didn't
happen then. What's the problem?

Default Re: playback failed

Ensure you have a dvd playing software installed for teh codec which WMP
will use, something like windvd. Update it if you do have it.
