Default recording full tape

I want to record a 40 min tape to my pc but on the movie maker wizard the
capture method page is missing so I can't tell it to record automatically.
Can anyone help me with this. Thanks in anticipation

Do you have a capture card and/or VIVO capable graphics card?

Thanks for your response. I don't actually know. I can record from my
camcorder to the pc using samsungs own capture device. I can also record for
varying minutes using windows movie maker, but what doesn't come up in the
wizard is the page where it gives you the choice to auto record.

Is this a digital or analog camcorder? How are you connecting it to the PC?
