nVidia FX5900/256MB (Chaintech) w/ VIVO, in A7N8XD-r2 mobo, 1 GB RAM, 80GB
HDD, from Sony video 8mm Handicam using Tandy adapter to svideo. Center 1/3 of frame is white out (horizontal) in spurts of from 9 seconds to 1+ minutes across a 45 minute capture. WMM monitor capture monitor window never shows white out during the capture. It appears in playback. Have viewed saved clip in WinDVD Creator 1.0 and in Windows Media Player 9 and white out is appears in playback there. Have a 3GB pagefile split across to logical partitions of HDD. Have a jpeg snapshot of a frame as example, but can't attach. . . . Have tried different nVidia display drivers - no difference. Have tried different nVidia WDM drivers - no difference. I doubt this is just a WMM issue, but do not know where to turn next. Hate to think I ramped up this hardware (256MB graphics adapter with VIVO) and went all nVidia and nForce for compatibility to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated. |

My nVideo VIVO card came with PowerDirector/PowerProducer and that works
just great for capturing analog video. Did you try it? You also have WinDVD Creator... did you try that? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "SteveInTallyFl" <SteveInTallyFl@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2F6FC20D-2CD7-4390-B924-4951E6E5DAFD@microsoft.com... > nVidia FX5900/256MB (Chaintech) w/ VIVO, in A7N8XD-r2 mobo, 1 GB RAM, 80GB > HDD, from Sony video 8mm Handicam using Tandy adapter to svideo. Thx for replying. WinDVD Creator can only support audio in through the VIVO
dongle and doesn't pick up the sound. WMM offers line in for audio, so I run the audio in that way which pushes me back to WMM. Are you aware of any third party products that, like WMM, would accept audio through line in and video through the VIVO? PowerDirector happily accepts audio through the line in... So does WinDVD
Creator... at least on my system it does.... I have WinDVD v2, I think you only had v1. PowerDirector I've tried 2.5, 3 and 4.... I've got the best results on v3 because I mostly use a MCE for my work and v4 doesn't do well on it... I know v5 is now out, but financial constraints have prohibited my purchase so far! Other editors that work just fine... Roxio's Videowave v7.5 and 8... haven't tried Nero on the MCE yet, it's on my test PC which doesn't have a capture hardware installed... yet. Soundcard is an Audigy 2 ZS. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "SteveInTallyFl" <SteveInTallyFl@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E2FED6BE-501B-42B1-AC8F-1A7B48D43BE6@microsoft.com... > Thx for replying.
