Default Crashes Every 2 minutes ??

Can someone help me out with Windows Movie Maker, it keeps crashing every 2
minutes, Im importing Windows Media Audio/Video files and just trying to add
a title but I dont even get that far as it crashes, Ive tried the version
that comes with Service Pack 2 then got a older version from Download.com and
that still crashes, Ive just re-installed service pack 2 which has brought
back the latest version and thats still shutting down when I import a video
clip,

Id appreciate any help to identify whats causing the constant crashes or any
views on recommended video editors that work as this is just a waste of time
and doesnt even give details on why it keeps crashing except for its
encountered a error and needs to close or its referenced a memory that cannot
be read. Here's some of the errors that appear in the event viewer, I have
Win XP Home Edition with SP2 and all the latest updates, AMD Athlon 1800+ ,

It could be a codec problem, so see this and turn off all codecs/filters in
your list and add them back one by one to see which is casing the grief.

Hi Graham

Thankyou very much for your help, All I had Listed on that tab was C-Media
Audio Filter, I assume this came with a windows download. I use Creative
SoundBlaster, I just do not have enabled to start with Windows as it
interferes with Norton so I think I may of downloaded C-Media from Windows
Updates a few weeks ago (Maybe it couldnt detect Creative), Ive unchecked the
box for C-Media and I've just been able to edit my first video file without
it crashing, Im hoping it has fixed the problem because before I could import
the video but If I tried to add effects, title or even view it then Windows
MM would crash which got abit frustrating after a few hours, It actually
looks quite good now I can use it and have been looking at the transitions
features which are very impressive. I will reply If I have any more problems
but its made a difference as I just edited a video and added a title which I
wasnt able to do before I really appreciate the help and look forward to
testing the features in more detail now I can use it.

Thanks Again

Kind Regards

Andy
