I am wondering why some online video clips allow you to click on the
timeline curser ( in media player ) and let you fast forward or go to a later point in the movie, and others will not let you do that and you must watch it ALL. Like in the AVID tutorials. http://www.adita.com/edition5.htm notice you can NOT fast foreward through the movie. I also notice this in all formats, such as :wmv, mpg, mpeg etc. Is this a function of a codec, or was it placed that way in creation.?? Anybody know?? thanks |

A proper streaming server, which costs lots to set up and run allows you to
choose where you want to be in the movie, a normal server just downloads the movie and you watch it from start to finish. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "punchfast" <punchfast(delete this)@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:tO_mf.44480$%i.11590@tornado.texas.rr.com... >I am wondering why some online video clips allow you to click on the >timeline curser ( in media player ) and let you fast forward or go to a >later point in the movie, and others will not let you do that and you must >watch it ALL.
