Default Which DVD to use

Hi yall
I am going to make some DVD's on my pc and am wondering which DVD format is
the most compatable with most home DVD players, DVD+R or DVD-R.
Makeing DVD's for my kids to play at home (movies).

well i spent 2 hrs on that site , still don't know anymore then i did
before,

Well i use the + DVD at home but i want to make DVD's for my kids and they
all have different brands,so i wanted to know which would work in most
brands.
