I am trying to copy some large Video files to an external disc. There are 3
files, the smallest being 3 Gig, the largest 11 Gig. I am trying to back up to a 40 Gig disc, which has 27 gig spare. I am backing up from an 80 Gig disc, which has 23 Gig spare. I am getting the error mesage, not enough Disc space availale to perform this action. I am dragging/dropping the file and have tried the copy command. I have an XP system with 1 Gig of RAM. Any ideas how to do this? Thanks, Andy -- Andy Wright |

Is the external drive formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. You do remember that FAT32
has a 4gb file size limitation? -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "Andy Wright" <AndyWright@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news E7A9E23-3DD7-4538-8E7D-027FFD19B76E@microsoft.com...>I am trying to copy some large Video files to an external disc. Converting from fat32 to NTFS is a non-destructive process, however, going
from NTFS to fat32 deletes all the data. "Cari (MS-MVP)" <Newsgroups1@coribright.com> wrote in message news:OGKEFLADGHA.3064@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > Is the external drive formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. You do remember that > FAT32 has a 4gb file size limitation? > -- |

Thanks, I'll re-format the external drive and that should sort it,
