Default Capturing picture

I have Windows XP with a DVD Drive. In the past I have transfered video from
my camcorder to DVD disc, but now I would like to know how to capture a
picture from a video and print it. Do I need some kind of software?
Appreciate your help and a healthy and Happy New Year.

In what format is the video?

Is it on the DVD or on the hard drive?

You are going to have to convert the VOB files to something WMM can
handle...

Unless of course it is saved as a dv-avi, which wasn't answered!!!!!!
Anyway as Cari says you need a dv-avi file, import into your editing app, if
you use MM, then see this for capturing a still.
