My problems are still not over. Now i know what has happened.
After running Startup Inspector for the first time, the program responded by saying that ATI was not necessary at startup. So I removed it from startup and then went and removed it from the system using "Add/remove programs". Now I don't know how to reinstall as when I do a search for ATI, a heap of files are listed. I went to the website as suggested by Graham and there are three parts to the download, the second being from the original install disk which I do not have, as the computer came with ATI installed. I cannot get past this point to download an upgrade. I advised ATI of my problem and sent a copy of the Everest report which showed that ATI was my graphics card but they didn't reply to my email as promised. Now I am stuck in which direction to go next. Any suggestions please. john22 "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Yes.... you have an ATI graphics card! > > As Graham has already posted, visit the ATI website and download and install > the latest drivers for your card. > -- > Cari (MS-MVP) > Printing & Imaging > http://www.coribright.com/windows > > > > "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:77E6823B-7D6E-4ADB-8299-D3A24302081E@microsoft.com... > > Cari, I ran a program called "Everest computer checks" and it has listed > > > > Graphics Processor properties: > > > > Video Adapter Sapphire Radeon 9200 SE > > GPU Code Name RV280 (AGP 8x 1002 / 5964, Rev 01) > > GPU Clock 200 MHz (original: 200 MHz) > > Memory Clock 164 MHz (original: 166 MHz) > > > > Is this what we are looking for? > > -- > > john22 > > > > > > "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > > > >> Let's see what DirectX identifies it as: > >> > >> Start, Run (type) dxdiag (enter) > >> > >> You should find out what graphics card or adapter (built in) you have by > >> letting it go through it's 'collecting information' then clicking on the > >> Display tab....
