Because of a previous problem it was suggested that I change the size of my
screen resolution, which I did. It was also suggested that I change the "Screen refresh rate" if the screen starts to flicker. I don't get a choice to change the rate as I only have have one choice under the Monitor tab, which is " Use hardware default setting". The flickering is not a constant problem, but each time I try to drag a window display, it is very slow and gives a wobbling effect. Previously I could drag a display across the screen without any problems. Any suggestions please. john22 |

Is there a box to check or uncheck above or below it?

No Cari, there is only the one choice as previously mentioned. There is an
"Advanced" section but it and everything else is greyed out. Actually, the whole computer appears to be slower. There is also a Troubleshoot tab beside the Monitor and that is showing "Full hardware acceleration" - if that helps. john22 "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Is there a box to check or uncheck above or below it? > -- > Cari (MS-MVP) > Printing & Imaging > http://www.coribright.com/windows > > > > "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news 90ACAFD-D20E-4894-8537-602148471649@microsoft.com...> > Because of a previous problem it was suggested that I change the size of > > my > > screen resolution, which I did. > > > > It was also suggested that I change the "Screen refresh rate" if the > > screen > > starts to flicker. First thing I would do is reinstall your graphics card drivers.... from the

I like to learn by doing things myself Cari, but I can't identify the

Let's see what DirectX identifies it as:
Start, Run (type) dxdiag (enter) You should find out what graphics card or adapter (built in) you have by letting it go through it's 'collecting information' then clicking on the Display tab.... Let us know what it says in the Device box. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging http://www.coribright.com/windows "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:03D232EA-2CD3-4F8D-97EB-3E371D7F4973@microsoft.com... >I like to learn by doing things myself Cari, but I can't identify the > driver's manufacturer. Graphics Processor properties: Video Adapter Sapphire Radeon 9200 SE GPU Code Name RV280 (AGP 8x 1002 / 5964, Rev 01) GPU Clock 200 MHz (original: 200 MHz) Memory Clock 164 MHz (original: 166 MHz) Is this what we are looking for? -- john22 "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Let's see what DirectX identifies it as: > > Start, Run (type) dxdiag (enter) > > You should find out what graphics card or adapter (built in) you have by > letting it go through it's 'collecting information' then clicking on the > Display tab.... Cari, I ran a program called "Everest computer checks" and it came back with
the following: Graphics Processor Properties: Video Adapter Sapphire Radeon 9200 SE GPU Code Name RV280 (AGP 8x 1002 / 5964, Rev 01) GPU Clock 200 MHz (original: 200 MHz) Memory Clock 164 MHz (original: 166 MHz Is this what we are looking for?
