Default Video recorded on one computer does not work on another

I have recorded videos (taken from a digital camera onto the computer) to a
cd. But when I put the cd in another computer, they are nowhere to be seen in
'my computer' (or Windows Media Player). What should I do?

Are they actually being burned correctly onto the data DVD?

Did you finalize the disc?

I am burning them onto a CD (not for DVD play) using Windows Movie Maker, so
it should work.

I burned it onto a disc using Windows Movie Maker. It did not offer the
opportunity to finalise. How would I do this? Thanks.

Why are you using movie maker?
Have you editid the movies from your camera and then burnt them?
How did you do this task?
Can you view these files ok using my computer or explorer on the pc that you
burnt it with?

Yes, I downloaded the video from my camcorder and edited it in Movie Maker
and then burnt the video to cd. Yes, I can see them and play them OK on the
pc I burnt the cd with, but not on other computers.m Any ideas? Nonobaddog
asks if I finalised the disc but I'm not sure how to do this. Thanks, Chris

How did you burn the cd?
Can you list the method you used?
MM makes a HiMat cd, which would require an up to date version of WMP to
play them.
What file type is listed as being burnt on the cd?
The disc won't need finalising.

Thanks. In Movie Maker, I got to 'save movie to file' in the File menu. It
offers various options including saving it to CD. It creates a .wmv file on
the CD. The other computer I have tried to play it on does have a up to date
version of WMP. Any further thoughts? Many thanks. Chris.
