Default No sound when capturing video from camcorder with Movie Maker 2.1

I've got a Sony mini-dv video camera connected to my PC through a USB cable.
When I try to capture video I don't get any sound transferred with it. For
"Video Capture Device" I have selected "Sony Digital Imaging Video2". Then
it lists "Audio Device" as "USB Audio Device". The only choice it gives me
under "Audio Input Source" is Microphone. Any suggestions as to how I can
get sound?

Embarrasing but it was simple. My daughter had turned down the volume
control on the screen. Never thought to check it. Now I know.
