Default Converting .avi files to DVD format

I want to burn .avi video files on my computer to DVD format so that I can
play them on my TV, but my DVD burner software only accepts files of types
..bup .vob and .ifo Is there software available to either:
-convert my .avi files to the acceptable types, or
-burn .avi files to a DVD

Roy did you get this figured out? IF so can you help me...I can't save my
moviemaker files in a format that my burner understands. How can I convert
them?

How to save as dv-avi in movie maker
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutor...SaveDV-AVI.htm
All authoring apps accept avi's.

Don't confuse an authoring app with a burning app. You need to import teh
avi into your authoring app, make your menu etc tehn ecode the file to a vob
which will then be burned to the dvd.
