The computer that needs assistance is in MI and I'm in AZ. MI has XP home
(dell)/with comcast dsl, and I have XP home with Qwest dsl. (HP). MI has O%
knowledge of computers, AZ (a little bit more). MI router unk,AZ has router.
I woud like to take control of her computer and she and I have talked on a
land line and we have decided on a specific password and username just for
this assistance. I don't think she has msmngr and the next time I talk to
her I will have her download it. Then I will try again in a couple of weeks
when I get a chance . tks dandedan4u

Well, unless you have configured MI's router to forward the port through -
you are likely to get 0% for your efforts too.

The router on MI's end needs at least port 3389 to be forwarded to their
machine on the other side of the router. The router manual should have more
information on how to do this, but if the model number was known - perhaps
someone here could point you to the right directions.

shenan: tks for your response. I've been out of town for a week. I just
found out that mi does not have a external router. But her ISP (comcast) may
have their own router within their system. I'll have to chk. again tks
