Switch on Remote Desktop in XP
Hi all,
We're looking at using Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop to more effectively support our users through the helpdesk. When I look at the Remote tab in System Properties, the Remote Assistance option is ticked. Under the Remote Desktop section, the option to "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" is not selected. My question is, how can I use Group Policy to have this box ticked on each XP machine and then how to I specify who can access each PC. My aim is to have a security group which has the rights to RDP onto a XP machine. Apologies if this question has been posted and answered else where! All the best, Steven.

very useful but I can't find the group policy setting shown below: ---------------------- Then to actually force RDP to be enabled on a Windows XP Professional Machine (Disabled by default) you must set the following policy to "DISABLED" Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Do Not Allow New Client Connections. -------------------------------------------------------- I am using the Group Policy Management console on Windows XP SP2 to administer my domain's group policies. I'm not a domain type person, but there is a policy on my XP Pro SP2 boxes
for...
