I have a small office network that I wold like to access from home.
If I am logged on to my desktop at work then dial in via dialup connection then run remote desktop, all works fine. The problem comes when I disconnect. The remote desktop is left at the welcome screen, and the modem will not "pick up." Is there any way I can dial in again? |

Try logging off instead.

I can vouch for this working with a broadband connection but I don't know if it will work with your dialup connection. That said, you might want to give it a shot: On the remote computer, go to Start -> Run and enter the following in the Open box: tscon.exe 0 /dest:console Click OK. You'll see a message on the local computer about the session being disconnected. Click OK. Close the RD window. What this does is restore the remote computer to the state it was in before you made the RD connection. The Welcome Screen is not displayed. It goes right back to the desktop. Good luck Nepatsfan |

Thanks, I'll try that.
